Manteca Cheese
Manteca Cheese
It is a dairy product made like a regular scamorza but contains butter inside.
It is a fatty, fresh cheese with a short aging period. It is usually consumed with warm bread or with pears.
Of clear Spanish origins, Manteca derives from the name "mantequilla" and is a cheese created to transport butter during transhumance. Depending on the aging, it can have a more or less intense coloration.
