Organic Saffron Threads from Basilicata

Organic Saffron Threads from Basilicata

Sudrise Organic Saffron is a precious spice obtained from the stigmas of Crocus sativus, grown in Gorgoglione, in the province of Matera, according to organic farming principles. Each harvest involves patient artisan work that celebrates one of cooking's most valuable ingredients, prized for its intense aroma, brilliant colour and unmistakable fragrance.

Hand-Picked and Artisan-Processed

The stigmas of Organic Saffron are picked by hand with great care to preserve their quality, fragrance and aromatic properties. Approximately 120,000 flowers are needed to produce just one kilogram of saffron, illustrating the extraordinary work involved in making this precious spice. Organic cultivation and careful stigma selection ensure an exceptionally high-quality product.

Perfect for Risotto, Pasta and Gourmet Recipes

Organic Saffron is ideal for risottos, fresh pasta, meat and fish dishes and many Mediterranean recipes. It can also be used as a natural colouring ingredient in dough, desserts and artisan preparations, lending every dish a refined aroma and characteristic golden-yellow colour.
