In the summer, here in Basilicata, we have one single thought: don't miss even one festival or patron saint celebration in the various villages. There's one sound in particular that we love to hear and that is a constant presence: the sound of the grill!

How could we not start with the must-have of every barbecue: fresh sausage. At Sudrise, we source ours from one of the historic butcher shops in Corleto Perticara, made with only adult pork, characterized by a low fat content and a very coarse grind, making it exceptionally flavorful. The spices used are ground pepper and salt. When grilled, its juicy texture will make every bite a unique experience.
Glummuriedd' are mixed offal from lamb or suckling goat (liver, lungs, and kidneys) wrapped in their own intestines, along with parsley leaves and chili pepper, if desired. Their very dry texture definitely pairs well with a glass of wine. This product is made throughout almost all of southern Italy, and in various towns, they have different names and even different weights. We source ours from San Brancato and Laurenzana, where they never weigh less than 50g.
