The nuglia is a typical product of Laurenzana. The part of the pig's belly is used, seasoned with salt, ground pepper, and wild fennel, and then left to dry.
However, in Basilicata, one must be careful because the name nuglia is also used for sausage with rind. What we offer is an excellent alternative to bacon. It can be consumed fresh on the grill or eaten with a knife.
