Cookies with Icing
Cookies with Icing
Typical Southern and Lucanian Cookie. Produced in a round shape as tradition dictates. Their uniqueness lies in the sugar glaze that covers them. The melted sugar, upon cooling, turns white keeping the cookie always soft and moist.
Also known as Bride's Cookies because they were given as gifts during weddings to relatives and guests.
Made with Carosella flour from Pollino, ancient grain flour cultivated by guardian farmers and milled by the Arleo Mill in Castronuovo di San Andrea.
