Mediterranean Tuna

Authentic Mediterranean tuna from the traditional spring run

Mediterranean Tuna from the Carloforte tuna fishery is one of the finest expressions of Italy's maritime tradition. Caught in the heart of the Mediterranean Sea, off San Pietro Island in Sardinia, it is made exclusively from prized tuna caught during the traditional spring migration, valued for its quality, texture and flavour.

Artisan preparation and traditional fishing

Mediterranean Tuna is caught during the traditional spring migration, between April and June, when tuna pass through the Strait of Gibraltar to reach the Mediterranean to reproduce. During this period the flesh is naturally more tender, flavourful and rich in beneficial fats, qualities that make this tuna especially prized. After being caught, it is prepared using artisan methods and preserved in olive oil to retain its distinctive taste and quality.

Perfect for starters, salads and pasta dishes

Enjoy Mediterranean Tuna on its own or as the centrepiece of starters, salads, gourmet sandwiches and cold dishes. It is also excellent in pasta, on pizza and in Mediterranean recipes, bringing the authentic taste of the sea and the historic Carloforte tuna fishery to your table.
