Organic Grass Peas (Cicerchie) are an ancient legume from Italian country cooking, grown in Santeramo in Colle by Viscanti Farm following organic farming principles. A source of plant protein and fibre, these traditional pulses have returned to Italian kitchens as interest grows in heritage ingredients and rustic Mediterranean recipes.

Organic Cultivation and Authentic Flavour

Organic Grass Peas are grown without synthetic pesticides or chemical fertilisers, respecting the environment and biodiversity. As a legume with an outer skin, they require prolonged soaking before cooking; the skins can also be removed if desired. Their flavour recalls broad beans and peas, while their substantial texture makes them especially suited to hearty, traditional dishes.
