The Dottato fig is considered one of the finest varieties for preserves and dried figs thanks to its rich flesh and intense flavour. Widespread throughout Southern Italy, it also finds particularly favourable growing conditions in Basilicata. The preparation of Extra Fig Jam follows a tradition reaching back to antiquity: figs were already preserved in Roman times so they could be enjoyed throughout the year.

Extra Fig Jam is delicious on bread and toast, but also pairs beautifully with fresh and aged cheeses, balancing sweetness and savouriness.
